Garbage:
Your Garbage Collection day is as follows:
Monday - For Residents living west of US 117
Tuesday - For Residents living east of US 117
Please have your cart to the curb the night before your collection
day. Be sure to remove your cart from the curb at the end
of the collection day.
Do not place hazardous materials (corrosive, ignitable, toxic,
reactive) such as solvents, paints, and cleaners, liquids,
antifreeze, motor oil, used oil filters, pesticides, herbicides,
lead-acid batteries, untreated medical waste, sharp needles
unless contained in a rigid, liak-proof puncture resisant
labeled container, radioactive material, explosives, sludges,
asbestos wast, hot ashes, animal and /or fowl fecal matter,
dead animals, corrugated cardboard, or other recyclables in
your cart. Bagging garbage before placing it in your cart
reduces odor, vermin, and insects. ALL GARBAGE MUST BE INSIDE
CART. ITEMS OUTSIDE OF CART WILL NOT BE PICKED UP!
Clean your cart periodically with soap and water. If you need
additional carts or service, please contact the Town Hall
at 293.7814 |
Bulky Items & Major Appliances (White Goods) |
Old major appliances,
also known as white goods, such as stoves, refrigerators and
freezers are collected free of charge weekly by town employees.
Simply place these items curbside, being sure not to block
traffic lanes. Please secure or remove doors on discarded
white goods.
Contractor materials
such as boards, bricks, sheetrock, shingles, windows, siding
and sofas, chairs and furnishigs are colected for a fee. Please
notify the Town Hall at 293.7814 of the need for this service
prior to placing curbside. Tires will not be picked up! |
Yard Waste |
| Limbs, plants, grass clippings, and straw is collected for
free weekly by town employees. Trees will be colected for a
fee. Please notify the Town Hall at 293.7814 of the need
for this service prior to placing curbside. |
Recycle This |
Place
these items in your recycling bin and take to the curb the night
before your collection day. Recyclables are collected every
other Tuesday. A recycling schedule is available at the Town
Hall. Be sure to remove your bin from the curb at the end of
thecollection day. Your recyclables are not sorted curbside.
They are collected commingled on a truck and shipped to East
Carolina Vocational Center in Greenville for sorting and processing.

| Cardboard boxes should be flattened and delivered
to the cardboard recycling dumpster located at the Town Hall.
